Many of these mixed-media pieces are worked and reworked, reflected on, moved from, revisited and reimagined.
Images are drawn over, glued over, painted over, and stripped. Pieces get broken and repaired or replaced or discarded. Entire images live beneath some of the material seen.
It is only with such reflection that we can hold onto our humanity.
Much of my most recent work is an attempt to bring humanity to those who have been dehumanized. While there are, sadly, vast and different groups of marginalized and discarded people (all too much to bear), I am choosing stories that speak loudest to me, although it's sometimes difficult to determine the loudest voices.
